Dodd Group operates as the Mechanical and Electrical contractor for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, as part of their Stockport Strategic Property Partnership with Carillion.
We provide commercial planned and reactive M&E maintenance, and an out of hours' service to approximately 200 public buildings, including schools, care homes, swimming pools, sports centres libraries and listed historical buildings.
Dodd Group provide apprenticeships for 16-24 year olds as part of Stockport MBC's Supported Apprenticeship Scheme, offering to help young people living in Stockport who are faced with challenging circumstances. As part of this scheme, we currently employ a full-time first year business administration apprentice, who is on the Autistic Spectrum and requires support from our office-based staff, one of whom has completed an Autistic Awareness Course. Originally referred to our Contract Delivery Team by Stockport MBC's Social Services system, we also employ a part-time second year domestic and commercial gas apprentice, who has been training with Dodd Group for the past 3 years.
In recognition of the education and training activities we provide for young people, such as apprenticeships, work experience, mock interviews, we have been awarded Stockport MBC's Working with Young People Gold Award for four consecutive years and most recently achieved Platinum status in January 2017.
