The Grove Birmingham

The establishment was made up of 64 bedrooms with extensive communal areas for the specialist care offered by the unit.

the-grove-birminghamThe Mechanical installation works comprised of the Soil & Vent, internal and external cold water, dual fuel gas fired/rapeseed oil boilers, under floor heating, sprinkler systems, ventilation general and kitchen, air conditioning, domestic water, solar heating, BMS systems and commissioning.

The Electrical package consisted of LV distribution, general, external and emergency lighting, power, TV, Nurse call systems, public address, induction loops, CCTV, Access Control, data cabling lightning protection, associated mechanical wiring and commissioning.

The project was programmed over a 45 week period for the M&E works, which we then reduced and completed over a 40 week period as a result of experienced sequencing on the part of the main contractor and ourselves.
The project was pre-designed by Cameron Taylor/Scott Wilson with Dodd Group moving all contract information to working drawing status, incorporating the overall co-ordination of the project and the project management of specialists such as Tyco Engineering.

Milton Keynes Retirement Village

The project comprises of the design installation and setting out of all mechanical and electrical systems for 258 flats for the elderly as well as landlord’s communal areas.

Mechanical- Sanitaryware, Soil & Vent, Internal and External Cold Water, Hot Water, Gas Boilers, Low Temperature Hot Water Heating, General Refrigeration Plant, Low Velocity Air-conditioning, BMS.

Electrical – L.V. Distribution, General Lighting, External Lighting, Telecommunications, Warden Call System, Public Address System, CCTV, TV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, Data Cabling and Lightning Protection.

Client: Northamptonshire Extracare

Contract Value: £5.2m

The Garrett Anderson Centre

Dodd Group carried out the design, installation and commissioning of electrical and mechanical services to the new Garrett Anderson Centre on behalf of Ipswich NHS Trust.

The Garrett Anderson Centre, whose name was chosen after an open competition and reflects the immense contribution to healthcare of Elizabeth Garrett Anderson who was born in Suffolk and was the first female doctor, will include:
· New Accident and Emergency department,
· Critical care centre
· Day Surgery Suite
· Theatres and beds dedicated to planned or ‘elective’ care.
