Dodd Group wins Gold Award

December 08, 2011

Stockport Young Stars recognises people who have undertaken education and training and have positive experiences, and local employers who are involved with the ‘14-19 Agenda’ by providing education and training including apprenticeships, work experience, and mock interviews.  Over 200 people attended the event at Stockport Town Hall on Thursday 01 December 2011.

Dodd Group was the only company to win a Gold Award for Working with Young People.  Heating apprentice, Dion Garner, was also nominated for 2 awards.

Councillor Stuart Bodsworth, Executive Member for Children & Young People, said: “This event celebrated Stockport’s young people - their contributions in the community and successes of people who made great progress since starting in education, training or employment, or improved their knowledge and skills.  Well done to everyone nominated for their achievements and the many unsung success stories out there waiting to be discovered.”

Matthew Lewis, Operations Director for Dodd Group commented “As a company we strive to provide skills and learning opportunities in the areas in which our business operates so that we may make a positive commitment to developing sustainable communities. We were thrilled to win this award because it not only recognises our efforts but also helps to raise awareness in the business community of the importance of supporting young people.”
