We have openings covering both Birmingham and the Sandwell patch.

- Carrying out maintenance and repair works in a variety of commercial properties across the region
- Ensure high levels of customer care in dealing with clients and to meet required quality standards.
- Communicate updates and progress of work, completing the required paperwork electronically or manually.
- Ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect company and client property at all times.

We are looking for Engineers with a professional, friendly attitude and the ability to work as part of a team to cover all out of hours call outs on a rota basis.

Ideal candidates will have

· Full Driving Licence

· A good knowledge of the full range of gas appliances and the ability to achieve a high first-time fix

· Safe Handling of Refrigerants

· Relevant F-Gas qualification

· Minimum 5 Years’ Experience on various AC systems including VRV’s and Split units. (refrigeration also desirable)

· Electrical fault finding desirable

· Willing to have Enhanced DBS carried out

Commercial Gas Engineer - Birmingham based

Dodd Group are a privately owned leading M&E construction, services and property group covering the UK - due to contract growth we are now is a position to require additional Commercial Gas Engineers Electricians for our Partnership Contracts based in and around the West Midlands area, either on a permanent or sub contract basis.

Undertaking planned and reactive service and maintenance, breakdown and fault finding and repair tasks on a range of plumbing, heating and water supply/services in a variety of commercial properties

We are looking for an exceptional Engineer with:

· A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role heating engineer, gas engineer or similar.

· Qualifications in C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.

· CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety and relevant domestic appliance units

· COCN1 - Core commercial gas safety certificate and relevant commercial units

· Must be familiar with Gas safe regulations 1998 and associated industry Standards

You will be familiar with routine preventative maintenance and reactive works and be able to organise your own workload and work to deadlines.

 Job Overview: 

To provide efficient, profitable and accurate quantity surveying of financial issues of all delegated contracts from order stage through to and including final account. To conduct themselves in a manner to promote a positive image of the company with a view to securing future enquiries and orders.

· To liaise with and communicate fully with the Senior Quantity Surveyors/Commercial Manager at all times on all financial aspects of delegated projects

· To comply in all regards with the Company’s Objectives and Mission Statement in relation to Commercial, Quality Assurance, Procedures and Systems

· To actively promote a Health and Safety culture within our business, and ensure implementation of the Company’s Health and Safety Policy

· To be responsible for the formulation and timely submission of interim applications for payment

· To be responsible for identifying contract variations, to provide accurate costing and agreement of costs of all variations with the Contractor/Clients representatives prior to the works being carried out

· To ensure final accounts for all contracts are agreed and paid in full in a timely manner to the benefit of the organisation

· To provide all necessary information including but not limited to CVR, WIP, Retention and Debt reporting to facilitate the Commercial Manager in completing the monthly management reports for presentation to the MD and submission to Division in line with agreed timetable parameters

· To familiarise themselves with the requirements of each project to ensure specifications are adhered to

· To search for value adding opportunity and engage with our clients in engineering of product and specification in an effort to enhance profitability and customer relationships

· To be responsible for the compiling and issuing of direct labour targets in consultation with the Operational Delivery Team and ensuring that a positive commercial position exists on all projects between output and expenditure

· To manage subcontractors accounts accurately and effectively including agreeing terms and conditions, variation claims, payment cycles including pay less notices where applicable to enhance the contract performance

· Seek competitive advantage wherever opportunity presents and endeavour to seek and promote differentiation from our competitors wherever possible

· To assist with estimating as and when required, including the checking of tenders to ensure they are commercially and contractually accurate and financially viable
