Dodd Group (Eastern) Ltd is looking for electricians to work on their own initiative and within teams on industrial and utility sites across East Anglia.

· Building Services: Based at our Kings Lynn office, you will carry out building services and industrial electrical work in the general area, though the ability to work further afield on occasion would be advantageous.

· BT Projects: Although managed by the Kings Lynn office, the work is centred on the Essex area and a local resource is preferred. Your primary role will be to carry out LV electrical installation work within BT telephone exchanges.

· Telemetry: Based at our Kings Lynn office, your main role will be the survey, installation, testing and commissioning of telemetry outstation upgrades across East Anglia. You will have significant experience of control and instrumentation systems and be competent with the use of PC-based equipment configuration apps and MS Office.

The roles involve travelling on a daily basis (for which a vehicle is provided), planning and ordering of materials through the office, installation, testing and inspection.

Electrical Installations Supervisor

Dodd Group (Midlands) are currently recruiting for an Electrical Installations Manager to assist and oversee with delivery on a new project covering the Manchester Hospitals.

We are looking for a fully qualified Electrician, with supervisory experience, and a sound understanding of emergency lighting, controls and power systems.

You will be required to carry out Electrical Installation work efficiently and in accordance with the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, the current IET Wiring Regulations for the Requirements of Electrical Installations BS7671 and the Construction Industry Safety Regulations. 

As this role is potentially customer facing, excellent interpersonal skills are required, along with general supervision, solid basic IT ability, and 17th Edition.

Carry out all QHSE tasks as directed by QHSE Management that are required to maintain Dodd Group ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS18001management systems. •

Drive to deliver continual QHSE improvements across Dodd Group.

• Ensure Dodd Group’s QHSE procedures are implemented to enable compliance with all relevant legislation.

• Carry out regular site and operative audits and inspections to monitor compliance with QHSE rules, standards and regulations and produce detailed reports with any necessary remedial actions.

Project Engineer - Water Industry

Telemetry Outstation Configuration and Testing Engineers

The King’s Lynn branch of Dodd Group is expanding its Telemetry Configuration Team that builds, configures, tests and installs PLC-based telemetry outstations on utility sites across East Anglia.

The bulk of the work involves upgrading ‘live’ telemetry systems with new equipment on ‘live’ water and sewage sites with the consequent risk of disruption to critical services and the client’s customers.

The preferred candidates will be capable of carrying out a significant proportion of the following tasks:

· ‘Desktop surveys’ of I/O, control and communications requirements based on existing outstation configurations.

· Site surveys of existing telemetry installations.

· Preparation and pricing of detailed installation proposals.

· Remapping outstation and PLC from existing to new templates.

· Recreating modular and bespoke control and signal conditioning software code using commercial (e.g. Straton, RSLogix) and proprietary applications.

· Identifying hardware requirements.

· Asset management of outstation hardware.

· Physical design, layout and assembly of bespoke outstation panels and backboards.

· Functional testing of configured outstations at works.

· ‘Top-end’ support of outstation installation and on-site testing/commissioning.

· Carrying out periodic quality checks of data from newly-installed outstations.

· Creating/updating outstation mimics (interactive process diagrams) on the ‘top-end’ system.

· Scheduling and progress reporting of configuration, testing and installation activities.

· Preparation and completion of technical documentation.

· Technical liaison with Dodd Group survey, build and installation teams, and the client’s operational and telemetry personnel.

Confidence with MS Office is necessary – particularly Excel – and experience of telemetry and PLC systems will be a distinct advantage as some outstations are linked to process automation PLCs. The role demands accuracy, an eye for detail, a diligent nature and an affinity for problem-solving. You will receive full training on the telemetry equipment and software tools.

QS / Contract Supervisor (Domestic Electrical)

Dodd Group (Midlands) Smethwick Office is looking for a QS/ Contract Supervisor (Domectic Electrical bias)

The position is to be responsible for the safety, technical standards and quality of work on existing measured term contracts for Domestic Electrical work. Working with an existing team to achieve a high standard of commercial and operational success.

QS/ Contract Supervisor duties:

· Ensuring the results of inspection and testing are properly recorded on the appropriate prescribed forms/certification.

· A review and confirmation of forms/certification is acceptable.

· Check and ensure that all Health & Safety requirements are being carried out.

· Carry out quality checks on operatives ensuring that inspection and testing is be carried out to prescribed standard.

· Ensure on going accuracy of test equipment.

· The safeguarding of NICEIC forms against loss or theft and unauthorised use.

· Liaise with clients and attend all client meetings.

· Assist in other roles and responsibilities for periods of high workload and sickness/holidays

QS/ Contract Supervisor qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical trade,

Qualified to NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor 

Knowledge and understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations and BS7671, associated guidance material, appropriate British Standards and other Industry Codes of Practice

As the QS/ Contract Supervisor you will have:
