Description

Due to an increased workload and positive order book for 2019,  we  now have a requirement for a Mechanical Project Manager. Initially working within the Hertfordshire area, based out of the Northampton (Eastern) Office.

The role includes, but is not limited to…..

  • Managing of sub-contractor packages on site.
  • Managing of site supervisory staff.
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting progress against program.
  • Monitoring and reporting of costs / cost projections.
  • Liaising with the Quantity Surveyor, overseeing and agreeing valuations / variations / applications.
  • Monitoring and implementing quality and health & safety on site.
  • Carrying out various audits.
  • Preparation of monthly reports.
  • Generation of requests for information and technical submittals.
  • Carrying out risk assessments and generating method statements.
  • Implementing and monitoring Company procedure & policy.
  • Reporting to, and assisting the Contract Manager.
  • Procurement of materials and Sub-contract packages.
  • Implementation of the better buying process to all packages / plant / materials for profitability.
  • Liaising with the Main Contractor / Client on a day to day basis.
  • Attending Project program and progress meetings.
  • Implementing H&S management in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Manage available project resources to maximise output and deliver to program and cost.

The candidate should have

  • A sound Mechanical discipline background.
  • SMSTS & 1st Aid Training.
  • Good organisational and analytical skills.
  • Commercial awareness
  • Communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Project Management and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record in a similar Project Management role, both pre-construction and construction.
  • A good level of IT literacy & Project Programming (ASTA).
  • Recent and relevant experience working within the Commercial M&E Building services environment.
  • Ability to set and agree project objectives and be motivated to deliver projects on time and to budget.
  • Ability to motivate people and  be a proactive team member.
