Dodd Group’s Southampton office continues to demonstrate that construction prospects are bright in the region by securing a £2m order from Willmott Dixon to provide the design and installation of all M&E services at the Brooke Mead Extra Care Facility in Brighton.

As part of a clear commitment from Brighton and Hove City Council’s commitment to develop a range of housing solutions for older people, Brooke Mead will comprise 45 bedrooms which are intended for vulnerable older people who want access to social care support while living independently.

Matt Clarke, Dodd Group’s regional manager commented “Brooke Mead is an exciting scheme for us as we will be responsible for the design and installation of the MEP services. The client’s desire for a sustainable building will be complimented with our ability to introduce green technologies into the scheme. As with our all our projects we will look to all interested specialist contractors and parties in the local and surrounding area to work with us on this fantastic project. This includes local MEP trades and labour for the works. We will also be looking for local apprentices.”

John Kavanagh, Dodd Group’s Managing Director added “We are particularly thrilled to secure our first project with Willmott Dixon in this region and look forward working closely with them and to demonstrating our capabilities on this prestigious scheme.”

Willmott Dixon Housing Islington Managing Director added “We are delighted to be working with Brighton & Hove in this expanding region for our business. We look forward to delivering a high quality extra care scheme which will offer older people a dignified environment which enhances their quality of life”.
