Partnership Sparks Judges Imagination

Dodd Group’s commitment to collaborative working has been recognised at the Electrical Contractors Association annual awards held last weekend in London where Dodd Group won the Best Client / Contractor Partnership category for its work with Solihull MBC. Held as part of the 'Electric Event' Conference Gala Dinner, at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, the awards recognise ECA member companies who have demonstrated the highest standards of services and innovation over the previous 12 months.

Dodd Group impressed the judges with how they have worked in partnership with Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to achieve excellent project results and how the partnership worked, with positive outcomes for both the customer and the Dodd Group.

“The Electrical Contractors Association, is the largest trade body for the electrical industry and so to gain such prestigious recognition means a great deal to us” stated Alan Wakeman, Dodd Group’s Operations Director – Partnership Contracts who collected the award from comedian Ed Byrne.

Dodd Group works with Solihull MBC to provide responsive and planned maintenance to the council’s property portfolio. The Partnering model has proved so successful both in terms of value achieved and integrated teamworking that several other organisations have joined the partnership including Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council and Solihull Community Housing.

ECA Group CEO Steve Bratt said: “Building maintenance is one area where collaboration can deliver real savings - as illustrated in this case by the results seen by the client. Congratulations to Dodd Group on this award win and for developing such an excellent initiative."
