Dodd Group's North West Projects team has recently been awarded an £1.55m contract working directly for the client, Diodes Zetex Semi-Conductors, with the M&E consulting engineer Deerns acting as Project Manager. The project for Dodd Group is to supply, install and commission M&E Services to two new Cleanroom areas and associated ancillary rooms at the client's manufacturing facility which operates 24/7. The installation will comprise General Ventilation systems, Acid & Solvent exhaust systems, heating, chilled water, process cooling water, Terminal HEPA Filtration, BMS, minor sprinkler modifications and associated electrical installation. Specialist extract systems will be manufactured and installed utilising extruded UPVC duct with external GRP reinforcement to cater for the removal of flammable toxic fumes. Final testing and commissioning will be a complex period for the project. The balancing, setting to work and third party validation of the new installation needs to be extremely well planned whilst incorporating these into the existing infrastructure and without affecting the 24/7 operation of the site.
