12 Squadron Infrastructure and Ancillary Buildings

The project required infrastructure and M&E services to various ancillary buildings that supported accommodation and training facilities.

The infrastructure included design, installation and commissioning of a new 800 Kva electrical substation, extension to site wide 20 pair cable, fire alarm signal cables (MARS Network) and incoming water supplies. A purpose built prefabricated GRP Enclosure was installed over the electrical equipment. HV specialists completed the connections to the RMU and supplies from the feeder pillar were installed to supply the Training Building, Accommodation Building, Substation DB and local car park lighting.

The water supplies served the training building, accommodation building and a drench shower.

The ancillary buildings were all lightweight construction, and included lighting, fire alarm and small power. The buildings included 8 Aircraft Shelters, 2 Stores Buildings and AGE Store Building.

An individual distribution board to serve each aircraft shelter was installed. Each shelter has high and lower level lighting complete with lighting controls installed to allow maintenance on aircraft and a Lightning Protection System (LPS)

Dodd Group was responsible for the complete design, installation, testing and commissioning of the MEP systems
