Bournbrook Sports Pavilion and Student Accommodation

Bournbrook Student Accommodation & Sports Pavilion is based on the University of Birmingham Campus and comprises  two separate buildings, housing 170 bedroom student living space, with individual flats sharing communal kitchens. This is spaced over 3 blocks consisting of 4, 5 and 6 floors.

The Sports Pavilion, is a shared space for the University's sports facilities, consisting of 8 Changing Rooms, a Sports Bar, Function Room & Kitchen.

Dodd Group was responsible for the Mechanical & Electrical installation within both buildings including the installation of the incoming electrics, water and district heating. The works included the full installation and provision of all electrical distribution, small power, general and feature lighting and lighting control system, data networks, fire alarms and security services.

All of the buildings services are metered including individual electrical, water and heat metering, which is connected to the University's head end.

Hot water is supplied via the University's district heating, this hot water is then converted to LTHW via plate heat exchangers, additional capacity in the heating system is stored via buffer vessels.

All systems are monitored via the building BEMS, which is linked to a central monitoring system located within the University.
