The project created a new 144-bed purpose built dormitory block, providing accommodation for the increase in enlisted personnel resulting from the bed down of the new F-35A squadrons.
The new building is a four-storey facility located on the existing running track at RAF Lakenheath.
The project provides key spaces such as 144 ensuite bedrooms, additional multi-purpose communal areas, kitchens , laundry rooms, breakout areas, gaming rooms and lounge, theatre, reception, cleaner’s stores, linen store and comms rooms.
M&E works included a new Air Source Heat Pump heating system, domestic hot & cold water, above ground drainage, mechanical ventilation, smoke extract, sprinkler BMS, external services, LV distribution, small power, data, lighting, security, LPS, fire alarm amongst other key services.
