To enable RAF Marham to integrate Lightening II F-35 fighter services at the base in 2017, the enabling works to facilitate redeploying exiting tactical Tornado squadrons on site created the need to building a new Squadron Head Quarters (SHQ) building.
The SHQ was required for operational usage for the spring of 2016, due to the tight timescales, issues with existing site topography and the operational nature of the SHQ location, this facility was delivered as a prefabricated building. The nature of the building required extensive design co-ordination and detailing to ensure the full client requirements were delivered to enable rapid occupation and operational use to be achieved.
