The project comprises the replacement and upgrade of 3No Energy Centres on site totalling a heating output of 11MW. The installation required the design of the temporary heating plant as the site requires the District heating to be maintained throughout the year. Dodd Group installed 5no Hoval boilers @ 2,000kW each and 2no Hoval boilers @ 500Kw each in B127, B134, B150.

As part of the design, a full replacement of the BMS controls was incorporated along with the installation of plate heat exchangers to enable hydraulic separation from the aged and contaminated system.

The plant replacement forms part of a wider MOD project drive to improve efficiency to Energy Plant, and to reduce Carbon Emissions. The project has been designed and developed in full 3D with readiness for incorporation of BIM requirements when known.
