Dodd Group was appointed as theprincipal contractor on this project. The existing heating system within theexisting primary school was beyond economical repair. The scopeof works consisted of stripping out the existing heating distribution,installing new distribution pipework and radiators, chemically treating the newsystem and commissioning of the new works.
No design documents were produced,therefore Dodd Group had to understand the Employers Requirements, attend siteto carry out surveys and develop a design solution before the installationphase was undertaken. Dodd Group also carried out the builder’s work inconnection and made good where necessary.
All works had to be undertaken outof school term times. This presented a challenge due to the time constraints,however the installation works were successfully completed during the schoolsummer holidays, whilst the water treatment and commissioning was successfullycompleted during the Autumn half term.
