Dodd Group was appointed as the principal contractor on this project. The existing heating system within the existing primary school was beyond economical repair. The scope of works consisted of stripping out the existing heating distribution, installing new distribution pipework and radiators, chemically treating the new system and commissioning of the new works.
No design documents were produced, therefore Dodd Group had to understand the Employers Requirements, attend site to carry out surveys and develop a design solution before the installation phase was undertaken. Dodd Group also carried out the builder's work in connection and made good where necessary.
All works had to be undertaken out of school term times. This presented a challenge due to the time constraints, however the installation works were successfully completed during the school summer holidays, whilst the water treatment and commissioning was successfully completed during the Autumn half term.
