The Kings Church of England School

Formally known as Clough Hall School, the new The Kings Church of England School comprises of a 7,200 square meter 3 storey building, housing humanities, technology, sciences, IT and other educational departments across the floors, together with a Main Assembly Hall, Drama Studio, Dining Space and Sports Hall.

The building itself was of a timber framed construction with an outer brick and rendered façade, which lent itself to a quick construction period and early commencement of services.

Dodd Group (Midlands) Limited, carried out full Design, Installation and Commissioning of all Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services over a 32 week programme including

  • LTHW Heating - Radiators, Underfloor Heating and Radiant Panels Natural Ventilation to the majority of spaces, Mechanical Ventilation to Specialist Classrooms, Kitchens and Toilets Gas to Kitchens, Laboratories and Technology Classrooms, Domestic Hot and Cold Water Services Sprinkler System BMS and Local Controls, External Gas and Water Diversions and Installations, Above Ground Drainage, Sanitary Appliances

As part of the initial enabling works, we were engaged in isolating and diverting a number of critical existing services, to enable the Upper School and parts of the Middle Level Schools to be demolished to make way for construction of the New Superblock. Although a difficult and protracted exercise, the various phases of the building construction and demolition were achieved without any loss of service to the buildings that remained.
