Project Overview
The project comprised a two-storey new build main school building which houses general teaching classrooms, practical teaching classrooms, library, kitchen & dining hall, main hall & changing facility and ancillary areas such as toilets and staff/admin spaces. All existing buildings on the site a were demolished with the exception of the ‘LA Block’, which had recently been completed by the Local Authority. Temporary accommodation was provided to allow the school to continue operating during the construction works.
The scheme was developed inline with the DfE Output Specification 2021 with the requirement to achieve net-zero carbon in operation (NZCiO) upon completion.
Dodd Group delivered the M&E design utilising its in-house design team. The M&E services on this project consisted of LV Distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarm/detection, disabled refuge alarm, induction loop, access heating,mechanical ventilation, natural ventilation, refrigerant cooling and building management system (BMS).
