Dodd Group was appointed by Willmott Dixon to install the MEP services to Phase 2 of the University of Warwick Arts Centre Development. This new extension to the building followed on from the initial refurbishment (Phase 1) which we had previously carried out.

Working closely with Willmott Dixon, our design consultant, Hoare Lea, and the end user we developed a solution in line with the University of Warwick’s specifications and guidelines which also met with the Building Manger and End Users’ expectations.

The building extension comprised a general reception area and general public areas giving access to the Mead Gallery and multi-purpose auditoria.

Within the Mead Gallery humidity controlled ventilation systems were installed to maintain conditions for the displays and exhibitions within the gallery.

The heating systems were a mixture of underfloor and trench heating with air conditioning provided to projector, IT and AV rooms.

Electrical supply to the building emanated from the original refurbished building via a new panel and distribution boards. Small power, lighting, fire and intruder alarms, CCTV, EVC, PA, Data and Lightning Protection were also installed.
