Dodd Group was appointed by Willmott Dixon to install theMEP services to Phase 2 of the University of Warwick Arts Centre Development. This new extension to the building followed on from the initial refurbishment(Phase 1) which we had previously carried out.
Working closely with Willmott Dixon, our design consultant,Hoare Lea, and the end user we developed a solution in line with the Universityof Warwick’s specifications and guidelines which also met with the BuildingManger and End Users’ expectations.
The building extension comprised a general reception areaand general public areas giving access to the Mead Gallery and multi-purposeauditoria.
Within the Mead Gallery humidity controlled ventilation systemswere installed to maintain conditions for the displays and exhibitions withinthe gallery.
The heating systems were a mixture of underfloor and trenchheating with air conditioning provided to projector, IT and AV rooms.
Electrical supply to the building emanated from the originalrefurbished building via a new panel and distribution boards. Small power, lighting, fire and intruder alarms, CCTV, EVC, PA, Data and LightningProtection were also installed.
