Supporting A Vital Community Asset

Since its founding in 2010 by head coach Steve O’Rourke, Wodensborough Boxing Club has played a key role in supporting young people in Wednesbury. The club provides a safe and inclusive space where individuals can stay active, build confidence and develop positive routines.

It also works in partnership with the Violence Reduction Partnership to deliver funded sessions that support young people at risk, offering structured activities and mentoring.

Delivering practical improvements

Following feedback from the club and wider community, the need for improved heating was identified to ensure the facility could operate comfortably throughout the year, particularly during busy school holiday periods.

Dodd Group installed a new heating system and carried out comprehensive electrical safety checks, improving both comfort and long-term safety within the building.

As part of the project, an apprentice from Dodd Group was involved in the installation, gaining valuable hands-on experience while contributing to a meaningful local initiative.

Creating lasting impact

The completed improvements will help Wodensborough Boxing Club continue its important work, strengthening its role as a valued community hub in Wednesbury.

This project highlights the positive outcomes that can be achieved through collaboration, demonstrating how Dodd Group works alongside local authorities and partners to deliver projects that create lasting benefits for communities.
