Coed Eva Primary School

Coed Eva Primary School

Coed Eva is an existing school near Cwmbran South Wales. The project consists of a new build replacement extension for the early year school that was burned down in January 2016. The project provides new early year teaching facility that is connected to the existing school by a new link access corridor. The new facility includes 8 new class rooms, internal activity breakout areas, toilet and cloakroom facilities, external teaching and secure play areas. The site of the existing early year school has been redeveloped to provide a new secure and illuminated staff car park.

The existing heating and hot water generating plant and controls have been completely replaced with new energy efficient plant that serve both the existing and new school extension. Installed services for the new school extension include:- sprinkler protection system, underfloor heating system, passive and MHRV ventilation systems, a roof mounted PV Installation, intelligent lighting control system and smart interactive white board facilities.

We were involved in a school/contractor interaction day where we explained how the new building worked and we helped pupils build Hedgehog boxes that they painted for distribution around the school grounds.
