Working strategically with Interserve, Dodd Group was appointed to deliver the design and installation of MEP services to 5 new build schools: The King’s Church of England School – Kidsgrove, Turves Green – Northfield, Edward the Elder -Wednesbury, Harvills Hawthorn – West Bromwich and St Lawrence – Gnosall

By working with Dodd Group in a collaborative manner, Interserve was able to benefit from Dodd Group’s commercial and design expertise in developing a robust and accurate cost plan that delivered a high quality product whilst bringing value to the client.Early involvement also enabled our design team to incorporate a common manufacturer specification across all schemes which not only brought about savings at the pre-construction phase, but which will also benefit the on-going maintenance of the schools post occupation.

Having secured the schools on this basis, the spirit of collaboration continued through the construction phase, enabling the team to consecutively deliver multiple schools across an extended geographic area. Knowledge sharing ensured that a spirit of continuous improvement was engendered across the framework so that lessons learnt could be applied from project to project. All projects were completed on time and to budget

The new schools were designed and constructed consecutively over a two-year period. The team spirit that Dodd Group and Interserve demonstrated included providing additional support to the local communities through a co-ordinated approach to corporate social responsibility. Gnosall for example benefitted from community football club facilities erected by the team.
