Southamptons New Art Complex (SNAC)

Southamptons New Art Complex (SNAC)

The North and South buildings of SNAC formed the new arts complex  which hold offices and function spaces for Southampton University, City Eye, Southampton Council and a third party Auditorium / dance studio facilitator.

The buildings comprises both 300+ seating auditoriums, art galleries, dance studies, offices, recording studios and general meeting facilities.

This complex and highly technical building has become the new hub for the cultural quarter in Southampton. Complex staging services and high profile mechanical noise controls were adopted, along with cutting edge equipment, lighting and services.

The facility benefits from the Southampton's Geo-Thermal district system which provides a heat source.

Managing change was integral to successful delivery. As the client expressed new vibrant ideas and aspirations for their building we worked closely with the Arts council and professional team to delivering the visions set for us.

The new gallery space has been created for the John Hansard gallery in association with Southampton University and consists of a varied and particular amount of specialist M&E services, security systems and bespoke lighting arrangements in order to safeguard and show off the best of what the gallery has to offer in its new home.
