Kier Construction Southern Award Northampton Office a New College Facility

Dodd Group's Northampton Office has been successful in securing the Design and Build contract for Salvatorian College in Harrow.

The £2.9m MEPH project is being internally designed by our in-house design engineers in partnership with our external Revit/BIM consultants Waterman Building Services of Nottingham.

This is the 5th school that will have been delivered by Dodd Group Northampton Office for Kier Construction Southern, and is the last school of the PSBP Harrow Batch that we are involved with.

The scheme benefits from LTHW heating services radiators and radiant panels to selected areas, full daylight linked dimmable LED luminaires, decorative external lighting and a gas absorption heat pump (GAHP) as the primary source of renewable technology.

The project is made up of two separate blocks, which require phased handovers to meet the occupancy demands of the local council and the ESFA.

Some of the challenges that we have overcome through design development are the interfacing with the existing Priest's Accommodation, which is Grade 2 listed and creating a temporary Reception Area for Phase 1 which will move to its permanent location upon completion of Phase 2.

The project has a 52 week programme, with a 10 month break between phases and will be handed over by August 2020, ready for the September intake.
