Trainee Success for Wolverhampton

Trainee Success for Wolverhampton

Dodd Group has been supporting the City of Wolverhampton Council's employment initiative by providing work place experience to individuals who have joined their scheme on the Civic Centre Future Spaces refurbishment project.

Our most recent work experience trainee was Thomas Sutton from Wolverhampton was on site yesterday under the supervision of Richard Carpenter, Dodd Group's Project Manager. Once his work experience is over, Thomas has been offered help from Dodd Group's HR department in how best to complete job applications and how to prepare for interviews.

A similar programme last year resulted in one trainee, Darren being employed by one of our sub-contractors, MJPS, as a self-employed labourer/trainee pipefitter. He has been in continuous employment on the Civic Centre Future Spaces refurbishment project ever since. Whilst MJPS cannot offer him permanent employment as all of their labour is self-employed, they have told us of their satisfaction with Darren and their intent to keep working with him for as long as possible.

Richard commented "Dodd Group has been working on the Civic Centre Future Spaces refurbishment project with Speller Metcalfe. Throughout the duration of this project we have strived to provide local employment and training opportunities within the city. This scheme has resulted in our apprentice, Corrie Dolan being named the company's Apprentice of the Year and she has now being shortlisted for a major industry award."
