Athena is part of an ambitious project by the University of Cambridge to deliver the new neighbourhood called Eddington; one that provides new homes both for sale and for university key workers and staff; a sustainable community offering a high quality of life. Athena will provide more than 249 dwellings, a mix of apartments and houses ranging from one bedroom apartments to five bedroom family homes.

The works comprised the design and installation of all M&E services to a number of residential apartments and houses together with landlord controlled common areas.

The mechanical services included heat recovery ventilation systems, underfloor heating services, mains cold water service, boosted water service, above ground drainage, dry riser installation, sprinkler installation and automatic controls. The work included a centralised plant room supplied from the site wide energy centre, from here services were distributed through out the underground car park to the risers in each block and then into each apartment.

The electrical services comprised main distribution board, located in the basement plant room, feeding out to various landlords sub-distribution boards together with a number of Ryefield units supplying individual apartments and houses.

Landlords areas included emergency lighting, external lighting and power supplies to such items as Lifts, Irrigation system and basement traffic light system.

Specialists installations included Fire Alarm, Access Control, Disabled Refuge Call system, EV Charging points, Smoke Control system including the basement car park ventilation.
