Redcliff Quarter Phase 2

Redcliff Quarter Phase 2

Phase 2 of Redcliff Quarter, is a residential-led mixed use regeneration in central Bristol. The project has transformed part of the wider 3.5 acre site with new streets, public realm, open spaces, courtyards and rooftop gardens to become a vibrant part of Bristol's '18-Hour City'. It capitalises on its position amongst public transport networks close to the Harbour side, business and retail quarters.

This phase of the development consists of two blocks of 118 apartments for private rent, together with new retail / restaurant units.

Dodd Group was responsible for the complete design and provision of Electrical, Mechanical, Sprinkler, Fire Alarm, Smoke Ventilation, Heat Recovery Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Extract Ventilation, Door Entry, Data, Satellite, TV, BMS, Generator, PV System and Smart Metering.

The ground floor plant spaces house a 150kVA diesel generator which provides a back-up electrical supply to the 'life safety' systems.  Part of the roof area is covered with 50kW(P) of Solar PV panels which is expected to generate an annual yield in excess of 40,000kWh of electricity.  Mechanically the project's heating and domestic hot water systems are served by 3no Hoval 500kW gas fired boilers and a 2000litre thermal store.

A site based Dodd Group management team comprising two engineers and two supervisors managed a supply chain of over 20 sub-contractors to successfully deliver the project.  During peak times in the construction programme Dodd Group had over 50 operatives on site.
