Dodd Group completed the MEP installation at the new 46,000 sq ft chilled high bay warehouse for The Wine Society in Stevenage.

Located in Hertfordshire, the new warehouse delivers much needed on-site storage space, together with a larger and enhanced service yard.

Warehouse 5 provides 25% of The Wine Society's total storage, increasing total capacity across the site to 18 million bottles. Using the latest in temperature moderating technology, this unique project has involved careful planning to accommodate requirements for a strictly controlled operational environment.

The new warehouse is 70m long and 23m high, with over 6,000m² of floor space, equivalent to the size of a football pitch. It has been specially designed using the latest in temperature moderating technology and includes facilities for solar panels as well as electric charging stations.

Warehouse 5 includes complex mechanical and electrical systems to ensure both temperature and humidity control alongside an advanced fire suppression system.

The Wine Society were keen to ensure that sustainability and low energy consumption were a fundamental consideration in the design of Warehouse 5 including the use of innovative insulation materials.
